Topic Group Mechatronics

 

Welcome to the site of the TG Mechatronics. As a technological topic, mechatronics has influence on the physical implementation of many aspects in robotics - especially if new technology is needed to enhance the current state of the art.
We are trying to identify potentials for the development of new concepts for sensing, actuation and control near to the specific hardware.

The previous multi-annual roadmap (2017B) was mainly influenced in chapter 5.4 (Technologies / Mechatronics).

Our activities address the fields

  • Mechanical Systems (e.g. mechanically embodied functionality)
  • Sensors (e.g. novel principles, fusion, fault-tolerance and redundancy)
  • Actuators (novel principles)
  • Power Supply and Management (e.g. track trends for mobile robots, energy efficiency in planning, perhaps recuperation and harvesting)
  • Communications (e.g. realtime, standardization, new wireless sensor communication)
  • Materials (e.g. lightweight, softness, introduction and handling of elasticity)
  • Control (e.g. unification of design, simulation and implementation)
